Nikki Sweeney

Each new path keeps me moving forward towards my growth as an artist. I let inspiration lead me in new directions, and travel is a big part of my life, having visited over 20 countries. I love to discover someplace new and see how it works itself into my designs.

I’m Nikki and I’m a graphic designer & surface pattern designer. I currently call the west coast of Florida home with my husband and our two kids.

I have always been obsessed with art & design. In college, I studied abroad  in Italy, where my curriculum each day was spent at a museum immersed in art(so much renaissance art), sketching in a drawing class(which is the extent of my formal art training) and learning Italian. This experience had such a profound influence on the path I would take into adulthood.

After college I moved to NYC to work in luxury fashion & beauty for iconic brands like Barneys NY, Bergdorf Goodman and  Estée Lauder. Later in my career a project at work introduced me to graphic design and I fell in love all over again with a new form of art. I took a digital design course to learn the software. I began a side hustle, starting with the design of my own wedding invitation.

After I had my kids, I didn’t want to go back to the fast paced lifestyle of corporate fashion. I decided to slow down and savor motherhood, focus on my own designs, and move South.

While my background might not be a traditional path, each twist and turn has inspired me to challenge my approach and point of view towards art & design.
